About me

Hi, I’m Nora Lindqvist. I grew up between Stockholm and Chicago, and the first thing I do in a new city is find the highest place I can stand. From the top you see how a city fits together: the river, the old town, the new towers, the bridges and the hills around it.

I started this site because buying an observation deck ticket is more confusing than it should be. One building can sell a standard ticket, a sunset slot, a skip-the-line pass, a higher-floor upgrade, a combo with a museum and a dozen guided tours that include entry. A city like New York has five big decks competing for the same evening. The booking sites list them one by one, but nobody puts them side by side.

So that’s what I do here. For every deck I:

• compare every ticket and tour that includes entry, by price, floor, what’s included, rating, number of reviews and cancellation policy;
• write down the facts that decide the visit: deck height, open-air or glass, how long you need at the top, and when the sun sets month by month;
• tell you which ticket I’d book and why, depending on whether you want sunset, the cheapest way up, no queue, or the best photo of the skyline.

How I choose what I recommend

I look at the numbers first: the price, what each ticket includes, how recent and how good the reviews are, and how flexible the cancellation is. Then I look at the view itself: what you can see from the deck, whether it is outdoors, and what time of day the light is best. A cheap ticket is no deal if it puts you behind glass at noon in haze.

How this site makes money

Some links on this site are affiliate links, mainly to GetYourGuide. If you book through them I may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. It never changes which ticket I recommend.
