Petřín Tower and Mirror Maze Entry Ticket
4.3 (2,890) · from $13

If you want the best views in Prague from a paid tower, I’d book Petřín Lookout Tower: the tower and Mirror Maze ticket costs $13, rated 4.3 from 2,890 reviews, and the viewing cabin is 51 m up on a hill. The cheapest ticket is that $13 one, and the highest gallery I can source is the Old Town Hall Tower at 41 m for $20, rated 4.5 from 7,745 reviews. The free option is a hilltop viewpoint such as Letná. I’d go on a clear morning.

Two towers answer the search for the best views in Prague on this site: a steel tower on Petřín Hill and the gallery of the Old Town Hall. They show the same city from different places. The hill tower looks down on the whole river valley, and the town hall tower looks into the Old Town’s own streets. The heights come from the official Prague page for Petřín and the Prague Visitor Pass for the town hall. Prices are the cheapest option on GetYourGuide in USD, and each tower name leads to its own ticket page.
| Tower | Height | Open-air? | Price from | Top ticket rating | Page |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Petřín Lookout Tower | Viewing cabin 51 m, whole tower 58.7 m | Indoor cabin, plus a covered terrace at 20 m | $7 audio guide, $13 tower and Mirror Maze | 4.3 from 2,890 | Tickets |
| Old Town Hall Tower | Gallery 41 m | Not stated in my sources | $20 | 4.5 from 7,745 | Tickets |
The two are 1.84 km (1.15 miles) apart in a straight line, so one day can hold both. Petřín wins on height and price, and the town hall wins on position.
The hill is what makes this the best view in Prague for me. Wikipedia says the steel tower was built in 1891 and resembles the Eiffel Tower, and Wikidata puts the hill at 324 m above sea level. The official page says 299 steps lead to the cabin, with a lift for a surcharge of 150 CZK. St. Vitus Cathedral is 0.91 km away in a straight line and the Astronomical Clock 1.87 km.
The ticket I’d start with is the combined one. It includes the Mirror Maze and is valid for one day, but the lift is paid on top, per one reviewer.

The $7 audio guide is a different product and I’d treat it as an add-on for the story of the hill. The full range and the official CZK prices are on the Petřín Lookout Tower tickets page. Check the official page for the funicular, which showed as out of service when I looked in October 2026.
The Old Town Hall Tower is my pick when you want the views of Prague to include the Astronomical Clock, which is 0.03 km away. The gallery is 41 m up per the Prague Visitor Pass, and the tower dates from 1364 per Wikipedia. Old Town Square is 0.09 km away and Charles Bridge 0.64 km.
There is one product, the plain entry ticket, and it includes the halls and the underground as well as the tower. The elevator is not included, so budget extra if anyone dislikes stairs.

The listing is valid for 24 hours, which lets you come back at dusk. The fuller explanation is on the Old Town Hall Tower tickets page.
You can find some of the best views in Prague without a ticket, usually from a park terrace. Google Maps lists Letná Viewpoint at 4.9 from 135 reviews, open 24 hours, and Riegrovy Sady View at 4.9 from 522 reviews. Near Petřín, the terrace Vyhlídková terasa is 0.56 km from the tower and rated 4.8 from 720 reviews, and the Lookout with Vineyard at Strahov is rated 4.9 from 301 reviews. Vyhlídka Na Opyši, below the castle, is rated 4.8 from 379 reviews. I have no prices for any of them, so I quote none, and I found no rooftop bar in my data worth naming.

The weather is nearly identical at both towers, so I use the Petřín data for the city. Per Open-Meteo, August was the clearest month in 2025 at 44 percent cloud cover, then June at 47 percent and March at 48 percent. December was the cloudiest at 76 percent, followed by January at 75 percent. Sunset runs from 16:00 in December to 21:14 in June.

Sunset and cloud cover for the same dates in 2025 at the deck (Open-Meteo historical weather (ERA5), 2025); sunset moves by about a minute between years.
There is a catch. From April to September the official Petřín page lists a 19:00 closing time, well before a summer sunset, and the Old Town Hall listing shows 8 pm on Google Maps. A sunset visit works best from November to February, when sunset falls between 16:00 and 17:21. In summer I’d choose the morning, and for the winter sunset I’d arrive 45 to 60 minutes before it.
Petřín shows the city as a map. Prague Castle is 0.96 km away in a straight line, Charles Bridge 1.21 km and the Žižkov Television Tower 4.01 km. From the town hall gallery, the nearest sights are tiny distances: the Powder Tower is 0.53 km and Petřín Tower itself is 1.84 km away. Put simply, the hill gives distance and the square gives detail.
Neither is a skyscraper. The best views of Prague come from low towers, so the horizon is closer than in a big city. The calculator below uses the Petřín cabin height.

Geometric horizon d ≈ 3.57 × √h (km, h in metres); refraction adds about 8%. Haze and clouds usually limit the real view first. Formula: Distance to the horizon.
For the best view of Prague as a whole, I’d choose the hill. Petřín sits at 324 m above sea level per Wikidata, so even a 51 m cabin looks down on the river, the bridges and the castle ridge. For the best views in Prague of one single scene, the Old Town Hall gallery frames Old Town Square and the clock tower. Google Maps rates Petřín Tower 4.5 from 36,908 reviews and the town hall listing 4.8, though only from 42 reviews, so I weigh the first rating more. Together they cover the best views in Prague that you can buy a ticket for.
Yes. The towers are 1.84 km (1.15 miles) apart in a straight line, and Charles Bridge sits roughly between them. A tidy plan is the Old Town Hall Tower when it opens, a walk across the bridge past Lesser Town, and Petřín in the afternoon. I did not check transit times, so I leave the route to your map app.
If the best views in Prague at sunset are your goal, check the closing times first: in winter both fit, and in summer neither tower is open at sunset. For that evening, a free hilltop viewpoint such as Letná is the better choice, because Google Maps lists it as open 24 hours.
The cheapest paid ticket is the $13 Petřín combo, and the $7 audio guide is cheaper only if you want the story of the hill. The Old Town Hall ticket costs $20 and buys three things: the tower, the historical halls and the underground. The official Petřín basic ticket is 250 CZK per the Prague page, and there is a 50% discount in the first hour after opening each day except 25 December and 1 January. For a group I’d price the Petřín combo first.

Prices are the lowest per-person prices on GetYourGuide when I last checked; the final price depends on the date, time slot and age.
If you can only pick one of the best views in Prague, I’d book Petřín. If you have a second afternoon, add the Old Town Hall Tower for the Astronomical Clock and the square at your feet.
For a paid climb I'd pick Petřín Lookout Tower, whose viewing cabin is 51 m up on a hill, so the Vltava, the castle and the Old Town all lie below you. For the heart of the old city I'd pick the Old Town Hall Tower gallery at 41 m. Free viewpoints such as Letná, rated 4.9 on Google Maps, cost nothing.
On GetYourGuide the Old Town Hall Tower entry ticket costs $20, and the Petřín Tower and Mirror Maze ticket costs $13. The official Prague page prices a basic Petřín ticket at 250 CZK, with the lift at 150 CZK extra. The Old Town Hall lift is also an extra. Prices can change by date.
Yes, several. Google Maps lists Letná Viewpoint at 4.9 from 135 reviews and open 24 hours, and Riegrovy Sady View at 4.9 from 522 reviews. I have no official price for any viewpoint, so I'd treat them as free parks and terraces and check locally before you plan around one.
Petřín gives the wider picture because the hill lifts the 51 m cabin well above the roofs, and it costs less. The Old Town Hall Tower puts you right above Old Town Square and the Astronomical Clock at 41 m. If you can only do one, I'd choose Petřín for the view and the town hall for the location.
August was the clearest month in the 2025 Open-Meteo data, with 44 percent average cloud cover at both towers, then June at 47 percent. December was the cloudiest at 76 percent. Sunset runs from about 16:00 in December to 21:14 in June, but both towers close earlier than a summer sunset.
Yes. From the coordinates in my data, Prague Castle is about 0.96 km from Petřín Lookout Tower and 1.42 km from the Old Town Hall Tower, in straight lines. St. Vitus Cathedral sits beside it. Whether the view is clear depends on the sky, so check the forecast before you book a slot.
The Old Town Hall Tower ticket is valid for 24 hours and includes the halls and the underground, so you can split the visit. For Petřín, the official page counts 299 steps to the cabin and Wikipedia puts the walk up the hill at roughly half an hour. I have no official visit time for the tower alone.
