Grand Canyon Skywalk tickets on this page start at $179.99 for the MaxTour small-group van trip from Las Vegas, which includes Skywalk admission. The most reviewed option is the Maverick helicopter flight at $639, rated 4.81 from 574 reviews. Wikipedia reports the walkway extends 70 ft from the canyon wall. I’d take the later van departure for softer afternoon light, or the helicopter if you only have half a day.

I found two Grand Canyon Skywalk tickets that GetYourGuide sells as tours from Las Vegas, and I compared both. Neither is a plain entry pass. Each is a day out that includes the Skywalk, so I say exactly what comes with each one. Prices are in US dollars and come from the listings, checked in October 2026. Links open GetYourGuide in a new tab, and I earn a commission if you book, at no extra cost to you.

Grand Canyon Skywalk at a Glance

The Skywalk is a horseshoe-shaped cantilever bridge with a glass walkway at Eagle Point, in the Grand Canyon West area. Wikipedia says it is owned by the Hualapai Tribe and lies outside the boundaries of Grand Canyon National Park. Here are the numbers I could source before you choose Grand Canyon Skywalk tickets.

I could not find opening hours in my data, so check the Grand Canyon West site for your date before you pay for Grand Canyon Skywalk tickets.

Grand Canyon Skywalk Observation Deck Tickets

Neither listing sells the bare walkway, so these Grand Canyon Skywalk observation deck tickets come as part of a day trip. Both are marked as including Skywalk admission, which is the detail to check on any similar listing. The helicopter version adds VIP admission, and the van version says the Skywalk ticket is included for every guest.

That means the question is how you want to reach Eagle Point, not whether you can get onto the glass. The sections below cover each of the Grand Canyon Skywalk tickets and the questions people ask about it.

Grand Canyon Skywalk Tickets and Prices

Grand Canyon Skywalk tickets and prices on this page differ by $459.01, and the gap is almost all transport. The van trip at $179.99 and the helicopter flight at $639 both include the walkway. One drives you for roughly 130 miles by road, according to Wikipedia, and the other flies you there.

If you are travelling with a group, this calculator works out the total for the tour you pick and links to the booking page.

Check dates and prices

Prices are the lowest per-person prices on GetYourGuide when I last checked; the final price depends on the date, time slot and age.

Grand Canyon Skywalk Tickets Price

The price depends on what you want from the day, because both listings bundle the Skywalk. At $179.99 the van trip comes to under $720 for a group of four. The helicopter flight at $639 per person includes the flight, a landing at the canyon, Skywalk VIP admission, taxes, fees and gratuities, and hotel pickup.

For comparison, the Grand Canyon West site was advertising an all-access pass at $99 when I looked on 2026-10-17. That pass covers the Skywalk, shuttle service and guided exhibits, but not the drive from Las Vegas. If you have a car, that is the cheaper route, though I cannot sell it to you here.

Is the Grand Canyon Skywalk Safe?

People search this because of the height and the glass floor. I can only say what the sources say. Wikipedia states the deck was designed for a 100 pounds per square foot live load, and that maximum occupancy at one time is 120 people. I found no safety record in my data, so I won’t claim one.

This is where I’d put the MaxTour van trip, the one product here that doesn’t answer a ticket question more directly. For nervous visitors it is the gentler day: a small group, a guide who doubles as your photographer, and no flying. It costs $179.99, is rated 4.95 from 76 reviews and lasts 9 hours. It includes Grand Canyon West entry with drive-on access, the Skywalk ticket, hotel pickup, lunch, snacks and drinks, and tips. The stops are Hoover Dam, the Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, Eagle Point and Guano Point. Free cancellation applies up to 24 hours before.

My pick: The calm option at $179.99: 4.95 stars from 76 reviews, a small group, Skywalk entry, lunch and hotel pickup included, and no 5am start.

Grand Canyon Skywalk Tickets Discount

I have no discount codes for Grand Canyon Skywalk tickets, and I won’t make one up. The only saving I can show you on a Skywalk ticket is structural: the van trip costs $459.01 less than the helicopter. Free cancellation on both listings also lets you rebook if a cheaper date appears.

Grand Canyon Skywalk Tickets Online

Booking Grand Canyon Skywalk tickets online through this page means you pick a departure on GetYourGuide and receive a confirmation. The one I’d choose for a skip-the-line feel is the Maverick Helicopters flight. It is rated 4.81 from 574 reviews and takes 2.5 hours in total. It is the only listing marked skip the line, and it comes with expedited Skywalk admission, VIP ground transportation and a souvenir photo.

You fly over Lake Mead, Hoover Dam and the Las Vegas Strip, land at Grand Canyon West, and have an estimated 45 minutes on the ground before flying back. Cancel up to 3 days ahead for a full refund.

Best way to see the Grand Canyon if you are short on time, with added bonus of flying over the Las Vegas strip on the way back.

My pick: The fast option at $639: 4.81 stars from 574 reviews, a flight from the Strip, VIP Skywalk admission and 45 minutes on the ground.

Grand Canyon Observation Deck Height

The height depends on what you measure. The tour listings say the Skywalk hangs more than 4,000 feet above the Colorado River. Wikipedia gives the Skywalk’s elevation as 4,770 ft above sea level and the river at 1,160 ft, with a vertical drop of 500 to 800 ft directly below the walkway. I’d read the first number as the marketing figure and the second as the one taken from USGS maps.

Grand Canyon Observation Deck Tickets

The same Grand Canyon observation deck tickets also answer a broader search. Many people typing this mean the whole West Rim, not just the glass bridge. The Skywalk is the headline, and both tours here pair it with at least one other viewpoint or landmark: Hoover Dam on both routes, and Eagle Point and Guano Point on the van trip.

Grand Canyon Observation Deck

The Skywalk is the best-known Grand Canyon observation deck on the West Rim, and tickets for the Grand Canyon Skywalk cover it, but it is not the only viewpoint. The Hualapai Tribe’s Grand Canyon West site lists a Native American Village and a theater with weekend performances at Eagle Point, plus Guano Point and Hualapai Point nearby. The van tour reaches both Eagle Point and Guano Point.

Best Time to Visit Grand Canyon Skywalk

Both tours that carry Grand Canyon Skywalk tickets are day trips, so you rarely choose your sunset, but the weather still matters. Open-Meteo data for 2025 shows October as the clearest month with 13% average cloud cover, with June and July close at 15%. November was the cloudiest at 50%, followed by March at 47%.

Sunset and cloud cover for the same dates in 2025 at the deck (Open-Meteo historical weather (ERA5), 2025); sunset moves by about a minute between years.

Sunset ranged from 17:22 in December to 19:53 in June. On the afternoon van tour the light should be softer than at midday, as the listing suggests. If you visit independently, arrive 45 to 60 minutes before sunset.

Grand Canyon Skywalk vs Other Observation Decks

If you are in Las Vegas, the nearest other deck on this site is the High Roller, covered in my High Roller tickets guide, about 122 km away. The two are different trips: a wheel above the Strip against a glass bridge over a canyon.

How I’d Choose

Frequently asked questions

How do I buy a ticket to the Grand Canyon Skywalk?

The Hualapai Tribe sells admission at Grand Canyon West, and its official site lists packages online. The two listings on this page are tours that already include the Skywalk: a $179.99 van trip from Las Vegas and a $639 helicopter flight with VIP admission. Both are booked on GetYourGuide, with hotel pickup included.

Do I need to buy Skywalk tickets in advance?

I'd book ahead, because both tours run from Las Vegas on set departures and the helicopter flight has limited seats. The van tour offers free cancellation up to 24 hours before, and the helicopter flight up to 3 days before, so booking early costs you little.

Can I drive to the Grand Canyon Skywalk?

Yes, but it is a long drive. Wikipedia puts the Skywalk about 75 miles east of Las Vegas in a straight line and nearly 130 miles by car. The van tour on this page covers that drive for you and includes entry to Grand Canyon West, so you do not handle parking or tickets.

How long do you need at Grand Canyon Skywalk?

It depends on the tour. The helicopter listing quotes about 45 minutes of ground time at Grand Canyon West within a 2.5 hour trip. The van tour lasts 9 hours and allows around 2.5 hours at the rim, which is enough for the Skywalk, Eagle Point and Guano Point at an easy pace.

Is the Skywalk at Grand Canyon worth it?

I think so if you want the glass-floor walk and the West Rim viewpoints in one trip from Las Vegas. Wikipedia says the Skywalk opened in 2007 and has drawn over a million visitors a year. It is not inside Grand Canyon National Park, so don't expect the South Rim.

What is the cheapest way to see the Grand Canyon?

Of the two options I compared, the cheapest is the MaxTour small-group van trip at $179.99, rated 4.95 from 76 reviews, with Skywalk admission, lunch and hotel pickup included. The helicopter flight costs $639. Entering Grand Canyon National Park yourself is a different trip, which this page does not cover.
