Tokyo Tower tickets start at $9.49 for the Main Deck at 150 m, and the most reviewed one is that same admission ticket, rated 4.63 from 4,558 reviews. The tower stands about 333 m tall according to its official site, which also lists the Main Deck at 150 m and the Top Deck at 250 m. I’d go about an hour before sunset, so you see Tokyo in daylight and then lit.

I compared all seven Tokyo Tower tickets and experiences that GetYourGuide sells right now: a plain admission ticket, a Main Deck QR pass, a VIP tour with the Top Deck, a sumo dinner show, an e-bike tour, a go-kart tour and a kimono experience. Every price, rating and inclusion comes from the listings, checked in October 2026, in US dollars and as starting prices. Two of the seven include a tower entry, and I say below which deck each one reaches. Links open GetYourGuide in a new tab, and I earn a commission if you book, at no extra cost to you.
Tokyo Tower is the red and white lattice tower in Shiba-koen, in Minato, and Wikipedia dates its completion to 1958. For anyone buying Tokyo Tower tickets, the numbers below come with their sources.
It is a lattice tower inspired by the Eiffel Tower, and is painted white and international orange to comply with air safety regulations.
The sources differ slightly on total height: Wikidata gives 332.6 m, Wikipedia 332.9 m, and the official site rounds it to 333 m. The two public levels are the Main Deck at 150 m and the Top Deck at 250 m, both named on the official site. The Top Deck is a separate, extra ticket on most days, which is why many Tokyo Tower tickets are sold for the Main Deck and the Top Deck as an upgrade.
| What | Detail |
|---|---|
| Public levels | Main Deck at 150 m and Top Deck at 250 m, per the official site |
| Address | 4 Chome-2-8 Shibakoen, Minato City, Tokyo 105-0011, per Google Maps |
| Opening hours | 9 AM to 11 PM every day, per Google Maps; the admission listing gives the last entry as 10:30 PM |
| Google Maps rating | 4.5 from 101,619 reviews |
| Time to allow | About 1 to 2 hours for a deck visit; the admission ticket is valid for 24 hours |
Hours and the Top Deck tour can change with the season, so before you buy Tokyo Tower tickets check the official site for your date.
If all you want is the view, the Tokyo Tower admission ticket is the one I’d book. It costs $9.49, is rated 4.63 from 4,558 reviews and gets you to the Main Deck at 150 m. Of all the Tokyo Tower observation deck tickets here, nothing else comes near it for the combination of price and reviews. The listing is operated by LINKTIVITY, offers English and Japanese, and is valid for 24 hours once booked.
Two details matter. The Top Deck at 250 m is included only when you pick the Top Deck tour option, and the VIP lounge only comes with the Diamond tour option. The ticket is also non-refundable, so book it for a date you are sure of. Reviewers praise the view, the fast elevator and the night scene, and one wrote that the interior lights reflect in the windows.
Best to book just before dusk so you could take pictures of both day and night from the top deck.

The Tokyo Tower tickets on this page run from $9.49 to $101.26, and the gap comes from what is bundled around the tower rather than the tower itself. One item here is not a tower ticket at all: the Shibuya Crossing go-kart tour at $68.35. It runs 1.5 hours in a small group, with a guide, fuel, costumes and an international licence, and Tokyo Tower is one of five stops on the route, with Shibuya Crossing, Harajuku, Roppongi and Aoyama.
I’d book it for the drive, not for the tower. It rates 4.79 from 251 reviews, and you are not going up the tower, because the inclusions list no deck entry. The title says an international driving permit and passport are required, and the listing excludes pregnant women. Free cancellation applies up to 24 hours before.

My pick: A street-legal go-kart tour for $68.35 that drives past Tokyo Tower: 4.79 stars from 251 reviews, but no deck entry.

People who search for Skytree tickets next to Tokyo Tower tickets are usually choosing between the two towers. Tokyo Skytree has its own page on this site, with the tickets and the weather for it: see my Tokyo Skytree tickets guide. It is 8.22 km (5.11 miles) from this tower in a straight line, and Google Maps rates it 4.4 from 120,487 reviews.
The card in this section is not a Skytree product, and I want to be clear about that. It is the sumo dinner show inside Tokyo Tower, and it ended up here because of how I ranked the leftovers. It costs $101.26, runs 2 hours and is rated 4.85 from 68 reviews. It is held on the fifth floor of Foot Town, the building under the tower, and includes a Japanese set meal, one drink, a photo with the cast and a Tokyo Tower observation deck ticket. The listing does not say which deck, so check that before you book. Free cancellation applies up to 24 hours before.

クロノスガイヤ株式会社
My pick: Not a Skytree ticket: a $101.26 sumo dinner show at the foot of Tokyo Tower, 4.85 stars from 68 reviews, with a deck ticket included.

$101.26
The easy way to choose between the towers, and between Tokyo Tower tickets and Skytree ones, is by what you want to see. The view from Tokyo Tower is of a city built around a red tower, and Skytree is the tallest of the pair and so looks out over a wider plain. Among Tokyo Tower tickets, a Main Deck visit at $9.49 is also the cheaper way into a Tokyo viewpoint. The two are 8.22 km apart, so if you want both, plan them on different days.
A different way to compare is to see the tower from the street, with a tour instead of Tokyo Tower tickets alone. The Tokyo Tower Area e-bike tour at $61 runs 3 hours, starts at a bike shop near Tsukiji station, and passes Tokyo Tower, Zojo-ji Temple, Hibiya Park and the National Diet Building. It comes in a daytime and a sunset version, and only the sunset one includes a Tokyo Tower observation deck ticket. Daytime guests get a traditional Japanese snack instead. It has a perfect 5.0, but from only 2 reviews, so treat the score lightly.

Japan Wonder Travel
My pick: A 3-hour guided e-bike tour past the tower for $61; only the sunset version includes a deck ticket, and it has just 2 reviews.
from

The height question is really a question about which Tokyo Tower tickets to buy. The official site says the tower is 333 m tall, with the Main Deck at 150 m and the Top Deck at 250 m. Wikipedia gives 332.9 m and notes it was the tallest tower in Japan until Tokyo Skytree was built in 2012. So the Top Deck sits about 83 m below the tip, and it is 100 m higher than the Main Deck.
To reach 250 m, I’d look at the Diamond VIP tour. It costs $44.30 and includes both the Top Deck at 250 m and the Main Deck at 150 m, a dedicated guide, a commemorative photo, transport to and from the tower, and all-day access to a private lounge with drinks and snacks. The meeting point is the Maple Lounge on the first floor of Foot Town. It has no ratings yet, so there is no review score to back it. That is the honest trade-off: you pay $28 more than the Main Deck pass for the top deck, a lounge and a guide.

LINKTIVITY Inc.
My pick: The way up to 250 m: Top Deck and Main Deck with a VIP lounge and guide for $44.30, though it has no reviews yet.
from
$44.30
Tokyo Tower tickets work well at night, because Google Maps lists 9 AM to 11 PM daily and the admission listing gives 10:30 PM as the last entry. The listing also describes the tower’s lighting as designed by Motoko Ishii, lit from sunset until midnight, in white in summer and orange in spring, autumn and winter. I could not confirm the schedule on the official site, so treat it as the listing’s claim and check before you plan around it.
None of the seven products is sold as a night tour, so you choose an evening time slot when you book. In the weather data the sun sets at 16:29 in December and as late as 18:58 in June. That means a winter visit is dark by late afternoon, and in June you wait until after 19:00. I’d book a slot about 45 minutes before sunset, see the city in daylight and stay for the lights.
Google Maps lists the tower as open from 9 AM to 11 PM every day, and the admission listing gives 10:30 PM as the last entry. That means ordinary Tokyo Tower tickets can be used almost all day. The Top Deck tour is run on its own schedule, so check the time on the booking page of your Tokyo Tower tickets. The official site is where I’d confirm hours for your date, since they change with the season and for events.
The only product here that is not about the view is the kimono experience, and it is the one I’d pair with an early slot. The Luxury Private Kimono Experience costs $45.57, lasts 40 minutes, and includes an English-speaking guide, the kimono, hair and makeup, transport and hotel pickup, with a photographer on some options. It has no reviews yet. The inclusions do not list a Tokyo Tower ticket, so you’d buy one separately: that is why I treat it as a photo add-on to your Tokyo Tower tickets, not a way into the tower.

Halukimono dressing Co., Ltd.
My pick: A private kimono dressing with hair, makeup and a guide for $45.57; no tower entry is listed and it has no reviews yet.
from
$45.57
For the lowest price on this page, the Main Deck admission at $9.49 is the answer. The next cheapest Tokyo Tower tickets are in the Main Deck 150 m Entry QR Pass at $16.04, the VIP tour at $44.30 and the kimono experience at $45.57. The e-bike tour is $61, the go-kart tour $68.35 and the sumo show $101.26. In other words, among these Tokyo Tower tickets every dollar above the plain one pays for a guide, a vehicle, a meal or a show.
The QR pass is a leftover in my ranking, not the best match for a price search, and you should know why. It is a Main Deck admission at 150 m from Beijing Mingtu Travel, rated 4.5 from just 2 reviews, and it adds a QR code sent by email for fast entry and an in-person guide. It also says that a Top Deck upgrade at 250 m needs a separate booking. At $6.55 more than the admission ticket and with far fewer reviews, I would pick the cheaper one unless the QR entry is what you want. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before.

Beijing Mingtu Travel
My pick: A leftover in my ranking: a $16.04 Main Deck QR pass with fast entry, 4.5 stars from only 2 reviews; the $9.49 ticket is the better buy.

Cloud cover decides how good the view is, and it matters when you buy Tokyo Tower tickets. In the 2025 weather data from Open-Meteo, the clearest months are January at 36% average cloud cover and February at 38%. The cloudiest is May at 86%, followed by October at 78% and June at 73%. Sunset runs from 16:29 in December to 18:58 in June.

Sunset and cloud cover for the same dates in 2025 at the deck (Open-Meteo historical weather (ERA5), 2025); sunset moves by about a minute between years.
My rule is to arrive 45 to 60 minutes before sunset. You spend the queue in daylight, reach the deck for the golden hour and stay for the lights. On this data, winter is my favourite window for Tokyo Tower tickets, with clear skies and an early dusk. August is the sunniest month, at 11.0 hours a day, but it is also humid.
On a clear day the horizon is a long way off. The calculator below uses the deck height to show how far you can see.

Roppongi Hills is the closest at 1.47 km (0.91 miles), and Caretta Shiodome is 1.68 km (1.04 miles) away. Shibuya Sky is 3.93 km (2.44 miles) off, and the Shibuya Scramble Crossing is 4.06 km (2.52 miles). Meiji Jingu is 4.61 km (2.87 miles) away, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building 5.95 km (3.70 miles). Sensō-ji is 7.77 km (4.83 miles) away, and Tokyo Skytree is the farthest on the list at 8.22 km (5.11 miles).
Tokyo Tower is the only deck in the city where the tower itself is the landmark, so I pair these Tokyo Tower tickets with a second viewpoint that looks back at it. Ratings and review counts are from Google Maps, and distances are straight-line from the tower.
| Deck | Google rating | Reviews | Distance | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tokyo Tower | 4.5 | 101,619 | the deck itself | Paid |
| Tokyo Skytree | 4.4 | 120,487 | 8.22 km (5.11 mi) | Paid |
| Shibuya Sky | 4.6 | 27,432 | 3.93 km (2.44 mi) | Paid |
| Roppongi Hills, Tokyo City View | 4.4 | 3,500 | 1.47 km (0.91 mi) | Check locally |
| Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, north deck | 4.5 | 9,375 | 5.97 km (3.71 mi) | Check locally |
| Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, south deck | 4.7 | 3,252 | 5.93 km (3.68 mi) | Check locally |
The one I’d add to your Tokyo Tower tickets is Shibuya Sky, because it has an open-air rooftop and the highest Google rating of the paid decks, and it is 3.93 km away. Roppongi Hills is the nearest, at 1.47 km, and it lists 10 AM to 10 PM on Google Maps. The Metropolitan Government Building decks in Shinjuku close earlier, so check their hours before you plan an evening.
On GetYourGuide the cheapest Tokyo Tower ticket I found is the Main Deck admission at $9.49, rated 4.63 from 4,558 reviews. A Main Deck QR pass is $16.04, and the VIP tour that includes the Top Deck is $44.30. The tower's own price list is on the official site, which is the number to compare against.
The listings here confirm a date or time at booking, and the admission ticket is valid for 24 hours. I'd book ahead for a sunset slot, because that is when most people want to go up. Free cancellation is offered up to 24 hours before on the tours, but the basic admission ticket is non-refundable.
For a first visit I think yes, mainly for the price. A Main Deck ticket costs $9.49 here and 4,558 reviewers give it 4.63 stars. It is the older, closer, lower view with the city around you, so it suits an evening visit. The Top Deck is the upgrade if you want the highest vantage.
Skytree is much taller, and Tokyo Tower is the cheaper and more atmospheric visit. Google Maps rates Tokyo Tower 4.5 from 101,619 reviews and Skytree 4.4 from 120,487. They are 8.22 km apart, so you can do both. If you pick one for the view of the skyline, go to Tokyo Tower.
In a straight line they are 8.22 km (5.11 miles) apart, computed from their Google Maps coordinates. By train it takes longer, so allow the better part of an hour between them. Each one appears in the other's view, which is a good reason to visit both on the same trip.
It depends on what you want. Google Maps rates Shibuya Sky highest of the paid decks at 4.6 from 27,432 reviews, and Tokyo Tower scores 4.5 from 101,619. Tokyo Tower is the cheapest and the most photogenic from below. I'd choose Shibuya Sky for an open-air rooftop, Tokyo Tower for atmosphere and value.
Google Maps lists the two observation decks of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Shinjuku, open 9:30 AM until 5:30 PM for the north deck and 9:30 AM until 9:30 PM for the south one. I have not confirmed they are free from a ticketing source, so check the building's official site. Tokyo Tower is paid.
