High Roller Tickets – view from the observation deck over Fremont Street Experience

If you want the best views in Las Vegas, two paid decks cover it. The High Roller wheel is the cheapest at $21.40, rated 4.63 from 5,375 reviews, and the STRAT SkyPod is the highest, with its deck about 261 m up, from $26.95. The free options are the Bellagio fountains and the Sphere view bridge. My pick is the High Roller, about an hour before sunset.

The Best Views in Las Vegas at a Glance

The best views in Las Vegas come from two different places on the same street. The High Roller is at The LINQ in the middle of the Strip, so the hotels run away from you in both directions. The STRAT sits at the north end, and its deck looks down the whole length of the Strip towards the airport. The table has the numbers I can cite for each, with the cheapest ticket on GetYourGuide and the rating of its top listing.

Deck Height Open-air? Price from Top ticket rating Page
High Roller 167.6 m wheel No, enclosed air-conditioned cabins $21.40 4.63 from 5,375 Tickets
The STRAT SkyPod 261 m deck, 350 m tower Both: an indoor deck and an outdoor deck $26.95 4.5 from 1,740 Tickets

The wheel height is from Wikidata, and the deck and tower heights are from Wikipedia’s article on The Strat. Prices are US dollars from the listings I checked in October 2026. Note that 167.6 m is the height of the wheel, not of a floor, so the two numbers are not the same kind of measure.

1. High Roller: My Pick for the Best Views in Las Vegas

The High Roller is the one I’d book first for the best views in Las Vegas, because it is the cheapest, the most reviewed and the best placed for the Strip. Wikipedia says it opened on March 31, 2014 as the world’s tallest Ferris wheel. One ride is a single 30-minute rotation, and the best vantage point is near the top, so stay at the windows.

The High Roller at The LINQ Ticket

  • 4.6 (5,375 reviews)
  • 3-day ticket

My pick: The standard ride at $21.40, rated 4.63 from 5,375 reviews: the cheapest way up and the one I'd book first.

The listings start you at the box office inside the LINQ Hotel. The standard ticket is valid for 72 hours, but the daytime option is valid only from 12 PM to 5 PM, so check the option list at checkout if you want a night ride. The listing says Monday to Thursday it runs 12 PM to 12 AM, and to 2 AM Friday to Sunday. Details are on my High Roller tickets page.

If you want a drink with the view, the cabin with an open bar costs more but changes the ride. It is for guests aged 21 and over.

My pick: The Happy Half Hour cabin with an open bar at $45.65, rated 4.68 from 1,531 reviews, for a night out.

2. The STRAT SkyPod: The Highest of the Best Views in Las Vegas

The STRAT SkyPod is the highest public view in this guide. Wikipedia gives the tower 1,149 feet (350 m) and puts the indoor deck on the 108th floor at 855 feet (261 m), with an outdoor deck above it. From that height the horizon is about 57.7 km away on a clear day, per the horizon formula in my data. Google Maps lists it as open 10 AM to 1 AM every day.

My pick: The deck ticket at $26.95, rated 4.5 from 1,740 reviews, with both the indoor and the outdoor deck.

For a thrill instead of a quiet look, the SkyJump is a separate listing. It is $144.99 for one jump, rated 4.77 from 150 reviews. I’d only book it if the jump is the point, since it is $118.04 more than the deck ticket. Reviewers of the deck ticket mention the night views and quieter late slots, which I cover on my STRAT SkyPod tickets page.

Night Views of the Strip: When the Lights Matter

Many people want the best views in Las Vegas after dark, and both decks support that. A GetYourGuide reviewer of the High Roller wrote that it was worth it in the evening after sunset, and a reviewer of the STRAT deck ticket wrote the line quoted below. Both decks stay open late, to midnight or later per the listings and Google Maps, so a night visit is possible on any day I checked.

Fantastic views at night i can thoroughly recommend
— GetYourGuide reviewer

My own rule is to book a slot that starts before sunset, because one visit then gives you daylight, dusk and the lit Strip. One High Roller reviewer noted that the windows can be dirty and make photos hard, so I’d not count on perfect glass for pictures. I have no data on queue lengths at night, so I won’t guess.

Free Viewpoints for the Best Views in Las Vegas

For no money at all, the Strip gives you plenty of angles, and this is the section I’d read before buying a ticket. My Google Maps data lists a few places that are public and well rated. I have no entry terms, hours or show times for any of them, so check before you go. None gives you height, which is what the decks add.

The Fountains of Bellagio are rated 4.8 from 61,427 reviews and are about 0.8 km (0.5 miles) from the High Roller. Sphere View Point (Bridge) is rated 4.7 from 235 reviews and sits 0.9 km (0.5 miles) away. Las Vegas Skyline View, rated 4.6 from 304 reviews, is a long way out, about 17 km (10.6 miles) east of the wheel, so it needs a car. The Eiffel Tower Viewing Deck at Paris Las Vegas is rated 4.6 from 4,205 reviews and is 0.7 km from the wheel, though I have no price for it.

Sphere itself is rated 4.5 from 36,883 reviews and is 0.7 km from the wheel. Fremont Street Experience is rated 4.6 from 149,101 reviews, 6.3 km (3.9 miles) from the High Roller. I’d pair one free stop with one paid deck, because the free places show the Strip at street level and the deck shows how the resorts line up. Both are good for the best views in Las Vegas, and together they take about half a day. Check the route on the day, since traffic on the Strip can be slow in the evening.

Best Time for the Best Views in Las Vegas

The weather is nearly the same for both decks, so I use the High Roller’s year of data as the city’s reference. Per Open-Meteo, July was the clearest month in 2025 at 8 percent cloud cover with no rainy days, and October was next at 13 percent with 2 rainy days. November was the cloudiest at 45 percent with 7 rainy days. Sunset runs from 16:27 in December to 19:59 in June.

Sunset planner

What time should I book for sunset?

–

book this entry time (50 min before sunset)

–

sunset, Los Angeles time

–

typical cloud cover that week

Sunset and cloud cover for the same dates in 2025 at the deck (Open-Meteo historical weather (ERA5), 2025); sunset moves by about a minute between years.

My rule for the best views in Las Vegas is to arrive 45 to 60 minutes before sunset. In October that means an arrival around 17:00, because sunset is 18:04. In summer the sun sets near 20:00, so a later slot catches the light. July heat is a separate question I have no data on, so check the forecast.

How Far Apart Are the Two Decks?

The High Roller and the STRAT are 3.5 km (2.2 miles) apart in a straight line, from the coordinates in my data. The wheel is mid-Strip and the tower is at the north end, so you can see both in one day but they are not a short walk. I’d pick one deck for the evening and use the other on another day. If you have a free day outside the city, the Grand Canyon Skywalk is a day trip from Las Vegas, and a very different kind of view.

How I’d Choose the Best Views in Las Vegas

I’ve kept this to one line per visitor, so you can find yourself quickly.

If you can only afford one paid view, I’d book the High Roller, the top of my best views in Las Vegas list. Add a free stop at the Bellagio fountains, and you will have seen the Strip from above and from the street.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I find the best view of the Las Vegas Strip?

For a view of the Strip itself I'd ride the High Roller, because the wheel stands mid-Strip at The LINQ and turns the whole street into the frame. It is 167.6 m tall per Wikidata, and the ticket starts at $21.40. For the highest view, the STRAT SkyPod deck is about 261 m up at the north end, per Wikipedia.

What is golden hour in Vegas?

Golden hour is the last hour or so before sunset. Per Open-Meteo data for 2025, sunset in Las Vegas runs from 16:27 in December to 19:59 in June, and was 18:04 in October. I'd arrive 45 to 60 minutes before those times, so one visit gives you daylight, the colours and then the lit Strip.

Are there free things to do in Vegas for a view?

Google Maps lists the Fountains of Bellagio at 4.8 from 61,427 reviews, and Sphere View Point (Bridge) at 4.7 from 235. I have no entry terms or show times for either, so check on the day. Neither gives you height, which is what the High Roller and the STRAT SkyPod add.

What are some hidden gems in Las Vegas for a view?

From my Google Maps data, the quieter spots are Sphere View Point (Bridge), rated 4.7 from 235 reviews, and Las Vegas Skyline View, rated 4.6 from 304 reviews, about 17 km east of the High Roller. Both have far fewer reviews than the big attractions. I have no hours or prices for them.

What's the cheapest month to go to Vegas for the best views?

I have no hotel price data, so I can't rank months by cost. For the view, Open-Meteo shows July as the clearest month in 2025 at 8 percent cloud cover with no rainy days, and November as the cloudiest at 45 percent with 7 rainy days. Check the month against your flight and room costs.

Is the High Roller or the STRAT SkyPod better?

I'd ride the High Roller for the Strip and the lights, and book the STRAT SkyPod for height. The wheel ticket is $21.40 and the STRAT entry is $26.95. The wheel is 167.6 m tall, the STRAT deck about 261 m. I'd pick one for the evening, not both on the same night.

How much do the best views in Las Vegas cost?

The cheapest paid view in my data is the standard High Roller ticket at $21.40, then the STRAT Tower Observation Deck Ticket at $26.95. Extras run higher: the Happy Half Hour cabin is $45.65 and the SkyJump is $144.99. Prices are in US dollars from GetYourGuide, checked in October 2026.
