The only one of the SkyWheel Helsinki tickets I found on GetYourGuide is the entry ticket at $17, and it is also the most reviewed: 4.5 from 291 reviews. The ride lasts 10 to 12 minutes, and the wheel rises 40 m, per the official site. That top point is the whole viewing height. I’d book a SkyWheel Helsinki ticket for a clear afternoon, or for a winter evening when the city is lit.

SkyWheel Helsinki is a Ferris wheel on the Katajanokka harbour in central Helsinki, a short walk from the market and the cathedrals. It opened on 3 June 2014 under the name Finnair SkyWheel, and Wikipedia notes that the harbour is where Finnair first based its flight operations in the 1920s. Because this is a wheel and not a tower, there is one ticket and one height.

SkyWheel Helsinki is a 40-meter tall Ferris wheel in central Helsinki, Finland.
This wheel has no deck to stand on, so SkyWheel Helsinki tickets are for the ride itself. After you swap the voucher at the ticket counter, you step into a gondola and buckle up for 10 to 12 minutes. The listing says the pod has large windows for views of the sights and architecture of central Helsinki. It also says the ticket is entry only: the terrace, the champagne bar and the shop are extras that are not included.
I’d book this SkyWheel Helsinki ticket for a first visit, because it is the only one on offer and it has free cancellation up to 24 hours before. The listing for these SkyWheel Helsinki tickets offers English and Finnish. A reviewer wrote that the ride takes about ten minutes, or around three full turns, so it is not the quick spin that some wheels are.

A truly beautiful view of Helsinki from the top of the Ferris wheel!
With one product there is no price ladder to climb among SkyWheel Helsinki tickets. The GetYourGuide ticket is $17 for one ride. The official site lists the regular ticket at 15 euros, children aged 3 to 11 at 10.50 euros and ages 0 to 2 free. Seniors and students pay 13 euros, and a family ticket for two regular and two child places is 46 euros, but the official site says both are sold at the ticket booth only.
I’d use the online voucher if you want to lock in a plan, and the booth if you qualify for a concession. The official site also runs an autumn offer from 10 to 25 October 2026, with a regular ticket at 13 euros and a child ticket at 9 euros. You have to ask for the autumn holiday offer at the booth, and it is not sold online. For a group, the calculator below shows the total with the booking link.

Prices are the lowest per-person prices on GetYourGuide when I last checked; the final price depends on the date, time slot and age.
Reviews of SkyWheel Helsinki tickets are good: 4.5 from 291 on GetYourGuide, while Google Maps shows 4.4 from 5,091 reviews for the wheel itself. Both scores are strong for an attraction of this size, so SkyWheel Helsinki tickets carry little risk. People praise the bird’s-eye view of Helsinki, the calm pace and the length of the ride compared with wheels in other countries.
The one recurring caveat is the weather. Reviewers rode on a sunny day and also in freezing winter, and the winter rider liked the lights on everything after dark. The gondolas are climate controlled, so cold does not spoil it, but low cloud does.
Set the price of a SkyWheel Helsinki ticket against what you get. A SkyWheel Helsinki ticket gives you 10 to 12 minutes in a gondola that holds up to six people, per the official site, so a group of six can share one cabin. That makes the per-person cost of SkyWheel Helsinki tickets lower than it looks if you travel as a family, and the official family ticket at 46 euros covers four places.
I’d call the price of SkyWheel Helsinki tickets fair for a harbour-front view with no climb. If you want a higher view, the list further down compares the other viewpoints in town.
A night ride is the reason many people buy SkyWheel Helsinki tickets in winter. The sun sets at 15:10 in December and 15:48 in November, per Open-Meteo data for 2025, so the city is lit while the wheel is still turning. One reviewer rode at 16:30 in winter and called it pitch black, with lights on everything.
The limit for night rides on SkyWheel Helsinki tickets is the closing time. Current hours end between 17:00 and 19:00, so in summer the wheel closes long before the 22:47 June sunset. For a night ride I’d go between November and February and check the official hours for your date.
Per the official site, from 19 October 2026 SkyWheel Helsinki tickets are valid when the wheel is open 12:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday, 11:00 to 19:00 Saturday and 11:00 to 17:00 Sunday. Until 18 October the days are slightly longer, with Friday to 19:00 and Saturday to 20:00. Google Maps shows the same October pattern.
The site says regular and VIP rides operate year-round and that irregular opening hours are announced on the page. I found no closure notice, but a wheel is weather dependent, so check the official site on the morning you go.
The SkyWheel Helsinki entry ticket is a voucher. The meeting point is the ticket counter at SkyWheel Helsinki, where you exchange it for a ticket before boarding. The listing includes the ride only, so the terrace, which the listing says is open from spring to autumn, the champagne bar and the shop cost extra.
Cancellation of SkyWheel Helsinki tickets is free up to 24 hours before. The official site says regular rides need no advance booking, so I’d treat an online SkyWheel Helsinki ticket as a convenience and a price lock. Skip it if you would rather decide on the day.
The wheel behind SkyWheel Helsinki tickets is 40 m (131 ft) tall, per the official site and Wikipedia. That is the top of the wheel, and I use it as the viewing height. It is low next to a skyscraper deck, but Helsinki is a low-rise city, so 40 m clears most rooftops and shows the harbour and the cathedral domes.
It also means the horizon is closer than from a tall tower. The calculator in the “What You Can See” section shows how far you can see from 40 m on a clear day.
One of the 30 gondolas is the SkySauna, which Wikipedia describes as the world’s first sauna on a Ferris wheel. It holds up to five people. It is a separate experience from the regular ride, and SkyWheel Helsinki tickets on GetYourGuide are for a standard gondola, not the sauna.
I can’t quote a price, a time slot or an age limit for the SkySauna, because the sources I used do not state them. If it is on your list, read the experiences page of the official site before you plan around it.

Sunset and cloud cover for the same dates in 2025 at the deck (Open-Meteo historical weather (ERA5), 2025); sunset moves by about a minute between years.
For SkyWheel Helsinki tickets, the clearest month in the 2025 Open-Meteo data for Helsinki was July, with 49% cloud cover and 13.9 sunshine hours a day. May was next at 60%. November was the cloudiest at 87%, followed by February at 85%, and December had only 1.1 sunshine hours a day.
Sunset falls as early as 15:10 in December and as late as 22:47 in June. I’d arrive 45 to 60 minutes before sunset, but the opening hours limit that. With a close between 17:00 and 19:00 on most days, a sunset ride works from November to February and in early spring. In summer, book for a clear afternoon instead. Treat these numbers as a guide, not a forecast.

The height used above is the 40 m wheel height. The wheel sits on the water, so the view takes in the harbour and the old centre. The landmarks below are straight-line distances from the wheel, calculated from the Google Maps coordinates.

Uspenski Cathedral is the nearest at 0.2 km (0.1 mi), and Helsinki Market Square is 0.3 km (0.2 mi) away. Senate Square is 0.5 km (0.3 mi), Helsinki Cathedral 0.6 km (0.4 mi) and Esplanadi 0.7 km (0.4 mi). Temppeliaukio Church is 2.0 km (1.2 mi) away, Suomenlinna 2.9 km (1.8 mi) and the Sibelius Monument 3.1 km (1.9 mi).
Google Maps lists a few other viewpoints around the city, none of which sells SkyWheel Helsinki tickets. I could not confirm admission rules for any of them, so I mark them as unconfirmed. The wheel is the only one here that I can price as a ticket.
| Deck | Google rating | Reviews | Distance from the wheel | Free or paid |

| Helsinki Airport Observation Deck | 4.2 | 263 | 16.7 km (10.4 mi) | Check locally |
The Olympic Stadium tower is the one I’d pair with the wheel, because it has a better rating on Google Maps and looks over the city from another side. If you are crossing the Gulf of Finland, the Tallinn TV Tower is the other deck on this site in the region, about 83 km away.
For $17, I think so. The entry ticket has a 4.5 rating from 291 GetYourGuide reviews, and reviewers say the ride lasts about ten minutes, or around three full turns, so there is time for photos. The wheel is 40 m tall, so expect a city skyline rather than a high-rise panorama.
On GetYourGuide the entry ticket costs $17 and includes a ride of 10 to 12 minutes. The official site lists a regular ticket at 15 euros, 10.50 euros for ages 3 to 11 and free entry for ages 0 to 2. An autumn offer runs from 10 to 25 October 2026 at the booth only.
Per the official site, from 19 October 2026 the wheel runs 12:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday, 11:00 to 19:00 Saturday and 11:00 to 17:00 Sunday. Hours change with the season and irregular hours are announced on the site, so check it before you travel.
SkyWheel Helsinki is 40 m (131 ft) tall, according to Wikipedia and the official site. The top of the wheel is the viewing height, so there is no separate deck. It has 30 climate-controlled gondolas, and the standard ones hold up to six people.
Yes. One of the 30 gondolas is the SkySauna, which Wikipedia calls the world's first sauna on a Ferris wheel. It holds up to five people. The sources I used do not give a SkySauna price or hours, so check the experiences page of the official site.
Yes, the official site says regular and VIP rides operate year-round. A GetYourGuide reviewer rode after dark in winter and praised the lit-up city. Opening hours are short, so a night ride mostly works between November and February, when the sun sets before 16:00.
The official site says no advance booking is needed for regular rides. The GetYourGuide ticket is a voucher you swap at the SkyWheel ticket counter, and it has free cancellation up to 24 hours before. Booking ahead mainly locks in a price and a plan.
