Fukuoka Tower Tickets – view from the observation deck over Momochi Seaside Park beach and Hakata Bay

Fukuoka Tower tickets are hard to find on their own: the only product I found on GetYourGuide is a 10-hour Itoshima day tour at $62.02 that includes a one-hour stop at the tower, rated 3.12 from 6 reviews. The deck itself is the 123 m observation room on a 234 m tower, and I’d go about an hour before sunset.

I checked every Fukuoka Tower ticket, tour and pass that GetYourGuide sells right now, in October 2026. There is exactly one, so this page is short on options and honest about it. Prices are in US dollars, and the rating and review count come straight from the listing. Links open GetYourGuide in a new tab, and I earn a commission if you book, at no extra cost to you. Because the tower sells its own admission at the door and through its official site, I also tell you where to look for Fukuoka Tower tickets of that kind.

Fukuoka Tower at a Glance

Fukuoka Tower stands on reclaimed land in the Momochihama area, facing Hakata Bay. According to Wikipedia it is the tallest seaside tower in Japan, was finished in 1989 after 14 months of construction and was designed by Nikken Sekkei. If you are weighing Fukuoka Tower tickets, these are the numbers with their sources.

The official site names three observation levels: the 1st floor of the observation room at 116 m, the 2nd at 120 m and the 3rd at 123 m. The 123 m level is the top one open to the public, so that is the height I use throughout this page.

Fukuoka Tower Observation Deck Tickets

Among Fukuoka Tower observation deck tickets, the one listing that gets you onto the deck through GetYourGuide is not a plain admission ticket. It is a guided day out: the Itoshima Waterfall and Fukuoka Tower Tour, run by TOEKI Tourism Group Shanghai Branch, for $62.02. It lasts 10 hours and starts from Hakata Station, with the guide in a yellow vest holding a yellow flag. The guide speaks English, Chinese and Japanese.

The stops, in order, are Shiraito Waterfall (30 minutes), Raizan Sennyoji Taihioin (40 minutes), Itoshima (40 minutes), Sakurai Futamigaura with its Couple Stones (100 minutes), Keya no Ohto (40 minutes) and then Fukuoka Tower for 1 hour. Between them there is about 3 hours 30 minutes on the coach, so it is a lot of driving for a single hour at the top.

What the listing includes is short: the vehicle, and the guide and driver. It also says other expenses not mentioned are not covered. It never states that the tower admission is paid for, so I would not assume the deck fee is covered. Ask the operator before you book, or have the entry price ready to pay on the day. The listing offers free cancellation up to 24 hours before for a full refund.

The reviews are mixed, and I’d read them before you commit. The rating is 3.12 from only 6 reviews. One reviewer wrote that the guide was friendly and the stops were varied, and another said the first two activities were fantastic but everything went downhill from there. A third complained about an Ichiran ramen factory stop that was not part of their excursion.

My pick: The only listing that touches the tower: $62.02 for a 10-hour Itoshima day with 1 hour at the 123 m deck. Choose it for the day out, not for the view.

Fukuoka Tower Tickets and Prices

This is the section where I’d normally compare prices for Fukuoka Tower tickets, and here there is nothing to compare. Marketplace Fukuoka Tower tickets are limited to the $62.02 tour above, a coach day that costs more than a visit to the tower alone because it adds the waterfall, the temple and the coast. The deck price itself is published on the official Fukuoka Tower site, which links a charges and hours page. I did not get the adult price from that page, so I will not quote one.

If you do take the tour and travel with others, the planner below shows the group total for the booking link.

Check dates and prices

Prices are the lowest per-person prices on GetYourGuide when I last checked; the final price depends on the date, time slot and age.

My practical rule on Fukuoka Tower tickets: if the tower is the only thing you want, go on your own and pay at the door or on the official site. Buy the tour only if the whole itinerary, from Shiraito Waterfall to Itoshima, is what you want to see, and treat the tower as the finale.

Fukuoka Tower Height

Before buying Fukuoka Tower tickets, it helps to know what you are paying to reach. Fukuoka Tower is 234 m tall, a figure that Wikidata and Wikipedia agree on. Visitors do not get that high, because the top part is the transmission mast. The highest public floor is the 3rd floor of the observation room, at 123 m on the official site.

On any Fukuoka Tower ticket, the horizon from 123 m is roughly 39.6 km away on a clear day, which is the distance the calculator further down works out.

Fukuoka Tower Reviews

Google Maps rates Fukuoka Tower 4.2 from 23,641 reviews, which is a big sample for a single tower. The tour that visits it has a 3.12 rating from 6 reviews, and those scores mostly describe the coach day and not the deck. Before you buy Fukuoka Tower tickets, read the 4.2 as the tower’s score and the 3.12 as the tour’s.

The guide was very friendly. The stops were varied and, for the most part, very interesting.
— GetYourGuide reviewer

For comparison with Fukuoka Tower tickets, Hakata Port Tower, the other deck in the city, is rated 4.2 as well but from 3,098 reviews, so the Fukuoka Tower score rests on a much larger number of visitors.

Fukuoka Tower Opening Hours

Whichever Fukuoka Tower ticket you hold, Google Maps lists 9:30 AM to 10 PM every day of the week. The official site gives 9:30 to 22:00 with last entry at 21:30, and says the last entry can be earlier when it is crowded. So for evening visits with your Fukuoka Tower tickets, plan to be at the entrance well before 21:30 and not at the last minute.

I’d also check the official site for holiday hours on your Fukuoka Tower ticket date and maintenance closures, because those are not in my data.

Fukuoka Tower Restaurant

Nothing about Fukuoka Tower tickets mentions a meal. I could not confirm from my data which restaurants or cafes operate inside the tower, so I won’t describe a menu or a price. The official site is the place to check. If you want a full meal rather than a snack, CANAL CITY HAKATA is a large shopping and dining complex rated 4.2 from 56,082 reviews on Google Maps, and it is 5.52 km (3.43 miles) from the tower in a straight line. Most visitors will want to eat before or after the tower rather than plan around it.

Fukuoka Tower at Night

The tower is open until 10 PM, so a night visit with Fukuoka Tower tickets is easy. Sunset in 2025 fell between 17:11 in December and 19:30 in June, so in winter you can see dusk and the lit city by 6 PM, and in June you wait past 7:30 PM. I’d arrive 45 to 60 minutes before sunset and stay for the first hour of darkness. Be careful with the Itoshima tour for this, because it gives you one fixed hour at the tower with no promise of timing the stop for sunset.

Fukuoka Tower Japan

Fukuoka Tower tickets are for a deck in the Momochihama area of Sawara Ward, on the west side of central Fukuoka, a short walk from Momochi Seaside Park (0.15 km, or 0.09 miles). Fukuoka is in Kyushu, the southern main island of Japan, so the tower is the city’s main seaside viewpoint. If you are touring Japan, my other observation decks are Tokyo Skytree in Tokyo and the Umeda Sky Building in Osaka, 484 km away.

Best Time to Visit Fukuoka Tower

Cloud cover decides how good the view is from your Fukuoka Tower ticket. In the 2025 weather data from Open-Meteo, the clearest months are July at 46% average cloud cover and November at 48%. The cloudiest are June at 78% and May at 76%. July is also the sunniest, at 12.0 hours a day. September and August have the most rainy days, at 23 and 22.

Fukuoka Tower vs Other Observation Decks in Fukuoka

Fukuoka Tower tickets open the main paid deck in the city, and I pair it with the viewpoints below. Ratings and review counts are from Google Maps, and distances are straight-line from the tower.

Deck Google rating Reviews Distance Cost
Fukuoka Tower 4.2 23,641 the deck itself Paid
Hakata Port Tower 4.2 3,098 4.46 km (2.77 mi) Check locally
Aburayama Katae Observation Deck 4.3 1,442 7.12 km (4.42 mi) Check locally
Shiomi Park Observatory 4.2 1,012 9.92 km (6.17 mi) Check locally
Komenoyama Observation Deck 4.5 642 17.54 km (10.90 mi) Check locally

The one I’d add to Fukuoka Tower tickets is Hakata Port Tower, the closest of the others at 4.46 km. Aburayama Katae is the pick if you want a hillside view that looks back over the city instead of out to sea.

How I’d Choose

Frequently asked questions

How much to go up the Fukuoka Tower?

I could not find a plain Fukuoka Tower admission ticket on GetYourGuide, so I can't quote a marketplace price for the deck alone. The only listing is the Itoshima Waterfall and Fukuoka Tower Tour at $62.02, a 10-hour coach day that includes a stop at the tower. The tower's own price page is on the official site and is the figure to check.

Can you go to the top of the Fukuoka Tower?

The top public level is the observation room on the 3rd floor, at 123 m, according to the official site. The tower itself is 234 m tall, but the upper part is the broadcasting mast, so 123 m is as high as visitors go. Two lower levels sit at 120 m and 116 m.

Is Fukuoka Tower worth going?

I think so if you like a seaside skyline at dusk. Google Maps rates it 4.2 from 23,641 reviews, and Wikipedia calls the 123 m deck most visited at sunset. It is not the city's busiest sight, so treat it as a one-hour stop. The tour on this page gives it only one hour of a 10-hour day.

What time does Fukuoka Tower open and close?

The official site lists 9:30 to 22:00 with last entry at 21:30, and warns that last entry can be earlier when it is crowded. Google Maps shows the same 9:30 AM to 10 PM every day. Check the official site for your date, because holiday and maintenance closures are not in my data.

What is the best time to visit Fukuoka Tower?

I'd arrive 45 to 60 minutes before sunset. In 2025 weather data from Open-Meteo, sunset ranged from 17:11 in December to 19:30 in June, and July and November had the lowest cloud cover at 46% and 48%. Winter evenings give you an early dusk and a lit skyline without a late night.

Is Fukuoka Tower the tallest tower in Japan?

No. Wikipedia calls it the tallest seaside tower in Japan, at 234 m, finished in 1989 and designed by Nikken Sekkei. Other towers in Japan are taller, such as Tokyo Skytree, which has its own ticket page on this site. The seaside claim is the one that holds for Fukuoka Tower.
