Tsūtenkaku tickets start at $7 on GetYourGuide, where the Tsutenkaku Tower Experience Ticket is the only listing and is rated 4.3 from 162 reviews. The main observation deck is 87.5 m up, per Wikipedia. Google Maps shows the tower open 9 am to 9:45 pm, so I’d go about an hour before sunset and stay for the lights of Shinsekai.

I looked at every one of the Tsūtenkaku tickets that I could book through GetYourGuide right now, and there is exactly one. Prices, ratings and inclusions come from that listing in US dollars, checked in October 2026. Links open GetYourGuide in a new tab, and I earn a commission if you book, at no extra cost to you.
The tower stands in the Shinsekai district of Naniwa Ward and has been an Osaka landmark since the 1950s. Before you buy Tsūtenkaku tickets, these are the numbers I check first, each with its source.
| What | Detail |
|---|---|
| Decks | General Observation Deck at 87.5 m and a special outdoor deck at 94.5 m, per the listing |
| Indoor or open-air | Both: the outdoor deck is open-air, per the listing |
| Address | 1 Chome-18-6 Ebisuhigashi, Naniwa Ward, Osaka, 556-0002, per Google Maps |
| Opening hours | 9 am to 9:45 pm every day, per Google Maps |
| Time to allow | The listing says 1 hour to 1 day; the voucher is valid for 24 hours |
| Google rating | 4.1 from 44,089 reviews, per Google Maps |
Check the official site for holiday hours and closures before you travel. Wikipedia describes what the tower is known for.
Tsūtenkaku is a tower and landmark of Osaka, Japan, and advertises the Hitachi company.
Tsūtenkaku observation deck tickets come as a single product: the Tsutenkaku Tower Experience Ticket from LINKTIVITY Inc. It is a standard all-in-one ticket and not a guided tour, so there is no guide and no fixed itinerary. It admits you to the General Observation Deck and to the special outdoor deck, and it adds one Dive and Walk activity and one ride on the Tower Slider. The plain deck is only part of what you pay for.
For a first visit I’d book these Tsūtenkaku tickets, because the extras cost little at $7 and the outdoor deck is the main reason to go beyond the standard floor. The listing’s free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead removes most of the risk.

The price picture for Tsūtenkaku tickets is simple because there is one listing. The ticket is $7, and nothing else sits above it to compare against, so no upgrade tier exists on the booking site. The listing does not include children’s rates for the all-in-one experience, which means a family should look at the official site before booking.

A single Tsūtenkaku ticket is valid for 24 hours after purchase, according to the listing, and you collect it at the 1st Floor Ticket Counter. One reviewer received the voucher about 20 minutes after buying, and another said it was very easy to get in and skip the line. Another reviewer wrote that you have to go down to the basement to find the meeting point, so look for the signs before you queue on the wrong floor.
The Tower Slider is one of the two activities in the ticket, and you get one ride. The listing gives no length or speed for it, so I won’t guess. What I can say is that reviewers single it out. The Dive and Walk is also a one-time activity. Together they are the reason I’d pick these Tsūtenkaku tickets over a plain entry to the deck.
Original slide and Dive and Walk. Worth doing.
I think Tsūtenkaku tickets are worth it if you want a cheap, characterful view and an activity or two. Google Maps rates the tower 4.1 from 44,089 reviews, and the GetYourGuide ticket sits at 4.3 from 162. One reviewer enjoyed seeing the city lights from the observatory, and another called the tower itself wonderful. The tower is 87.5 m to the main deck, well below Osaka’s tallest buildings, so I would not book it for a record-high view. I’d book it for Shinsekai below you and the retro feel of a 1950s tower.
Google Maps lists the same hours for every day of the week: 9 am to 9:45 pm. That gives a long evening window for Tsūtenkaku tickets, and the sunset section below shows when to book. The ticket is valid for 24 hours, which helps if you want a daytime and a night look on one purchase, though the listing does not say you can enter twice, so ask at the counter. Hours are shown per Google Maps, so check the official site for holiday changes.
The cost of Tsūtenkaku tickets on GetYourGuide is $7 for the all-in-one experience. The listing says it excludes children’s rates for that ticket, and it does not include a meal or a guide. I have not found a published price for a plain deck-only entry in my data, so I won’t quote one, and I’d check the official site if you only want the standard deck.
The tower is 108 m tall according to Wikidata, which lists six floors, the architect Tachū Naitō and an opening year of 1956. It sits in Shinsekai, a district known for its neon, and the Hitachi advertising on the tower is part of its look. The main deck is lower than the full height, so the 108 m figure tells you about the tower, not the view.
Two decks matter when you choose Tsūtenkaku tickets. The General Observation Deck is at 87.5 m and the special outdoor deck is at 94.5 m, both per the listing. The outdoor deck is the one with open air, which makes it the better choice for photos without glass and a weak choice in heavy rain or wind. If the weather is poor, I’d rather move the visit to another day than pay for a grey sky.
If you are comparing it with other towers in Japan, the nearest ones on this site are in Osaka itself: Abeno Harukas is about 1 km away and Umeda Sky Building about 6 km. Tsūtenkaku tickets are cheaper than the other two, and the tower is lower and more nostalgic. Kobe’s harbour tower, which I cover at Kobe Port Tower, is another low-priced deck about 27 km away.
Winter is the clearest. In the 2025 Open-Meteo data, January had the lowest average cloud cover at 41%, followed by November at 42% and December at 44%. The cloudiest months were May at 80% and June at 73%, and August had the most rainy days with 17. Sunset runs from 16:48 in December to 19:12 in June.

Sunset and cloud cover for the same dates in 2025 at the deck (Open-Meteo historical weather (ERA5), 2025); sunset moves by about a minute between years.
For an evening visit with Tsūtenkaku tickets I’d arrive 45 to 60 minutes before sunset. In December that means going up at about 16:00, and in June at about 18:15. The tower stays open until 9:45 pm per Google Maps, so you can stay as the daylight changes to neon.
From 87.5 m the horizon is a long way off. The calculator shows how far you can see on a clear day.

Shinsekai is right below at 0.1 km (0.07 miles). Dotonbori is 1.9 km (1.2 miles) away and the Glico Sign is 1.9 km (1.2 miles), both to the north. Osaka Castle is 4.3 km (2.7 miles) away, and Grand Front Osaka 5.8 km (3.6 miles). Umeda Sky Building is 6.1 km (3.8 miles), Universal Studios Japan 6.9 km (4.3 miles) and Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan 7.1 km (4.4 miles) toward the bay.
Osaka has several other viewpoints, and a few are close. Ratings and review counts are from Google Maps, distances are straight-line from the tower, and I have not stated which are free because the data does not say.

Umeda Sky Building is the big alternative with a comparable number of Google reviews, but it sits on the north side of the city. I’d use my Tsūtenkaku tickets for the south-side, neon-street view, and add Abeno Harukas if you want a modern tower on the same day.
On GetYourGuide the Tsutenkaku Tower Experience Ticket costs $7, rated 4.3 from 162 reviews. It covers the 87.5 m General Observation Deck, the 94.5 m outdoor deck, one Dive and Walk and one Tower Slider ride. Children's rates for that all-in-one ticket are not included, so check the official site for child prices.
For $7 I think so, because the one ticket bundles two decks and two activities. The listing is rated 4.3 from 162 reviews, and one reviewer wrote that the slide and Dive and Walk were worth doing. Google Maps rates the tower itself 4.1 from 44,089 reviews, so expect a lively, slightly retro landmark and not a polished skyscraper.
Google Maps lists the tower open every day from 9 am to 9:45 pm. Hours can change for maintenance, weather and holidays, so check the official site at tsutenkaku.co.jp before you go. The ticket listing is valid for 24 hours after purchase and has free cancellation up to 24 hours in advance.
The tower is 108 m tall according to Wikidata. The General Observation Deck is at 87.5 m, per the listing and Wikipedia's list of public observation decks, and the special outdoor deck is at 94.5 m. From 87.5 m the horizon is about 33 km away on a clear day.
I would arrive 45 to 60 minutes before sunset. In the 2025 Open-Meteo data the clearest months were January at 41 percent cloud cover and November at 42 percent. Sunset ran from 16:48 in December to 19:12 in June. May was the cloudiest month at 80 percent.
The listing gives the 1st Floor Ticket Counter as the meeting point. One reviewer warned that you have to go down to the basement, so allow a few extra minutes the first time. Another said the ticket arrived about 20 minutes after purchase, so book before you set off.
