Lotte World Tower Tickets – view from the observation deck over the Han River and the Seoul skyline

Glass floor observation decks are rarer than the brochures suggest. Of the decks I cover, 17 state a glass floor, a glass ledge or a glass box in the official site, in Wikipedia or in the ticket listing, and those are the only ones below. The highest glass floor observation deck I can cite is the Lotte World Tower in Seoul, with a glass floor on level 118 of a deck at 486 m. If you want the one I’d book for nerves and value together, my pick is the Willis Tower Ledge in Chicago at 412.7 m, with the CN Tower Glass Floor in Toronto close behind.

Every glass floor observation deck below is checked against a source, so you can verify the claim yourself. I rank by deck height, because that is the number each operator and Wikipedia publish. Where a source gives the height of the glass section itself, I say so in the entry. A deck with a glass section but no cited height is listed last and left unranked. Prices are US dollars from GetYourGuide, checked in October 2026.

The Glass Floor Observation Decks, Ranked

The table is sorted by deck height, with a few exceptions that I explain in the entries. The CN Tower, the Oriental Pearl Tower and the Sky Tower are placed by the height of their glass section, which is lower than the top deck. A glass floor observation deck is a different product from a plain viewing deck, so I treat the glass height as the number that matters when the sources give it.

1. Lotte World Tower, Seoul: 486 m

The deck sits at 486 m (1,594 ft) according to the Wikipedia list of public observation decks, and the Seoul Sky Observatory has a glass floor on level 118. That makes it the highest glass floor observation deck on this page. The plain admission ticket costs $24.72 and is rated 4.65 from 604 reviews. I have no data on age or health limits, so if heights worry you, check with the operator before you go. My full guide is in my Lotte World Tower tickets page.

  • 4.7 (604 reviews)

My pick: The Seoul Sky ticket at $24.72 is the cheapest way onto the highest glass floor I can cite, and it is the only deck ticket I found.

2. Willis Tower, Chicago: 412.7 m

The Skydeck on the 103rd floor is at 412.7 m on Wikipedia’s list, and The Ledge is a set of glass boxes that stick out from it. The official site quotes The Ledge at 1,353 feet, which matches the deck height. One guest quoted on the official site says the time on The Ledge itself was about 90 seconds, so you are paying for a short moment. This is the best-known glass floor observation deck in the United States. Details and the other ticket types are in Willis Tower tickets.

3. CN Tower, Toronto: glass floor at 342 m

The CN Tower deck is at 446.7 m in the Wikipedia list, but the Glass Floor is on the Lower Observation Level at 342 m, per the tower’s visitor information on my page. I rank it by the glass. The standard entry for the Main and Lower Observation Levels, which includes the Glass Floor, is $37.56. One reviewer wrote that walking on the glass floor was a strange feeling. Read the options in CN Tower tickets.

CN Tower

CN Tower Ticket to Main & Lower Observation Levels

  • 1.5 hours

My pick: The one I'd buy for a first visit: lowest price at $37.56, official operator, fast track entry and the Glass Floor included.

4. Edge NYC, New York City: 340 m

Edge is the higher outdoor glass floor observation deck of the two big Manhattan glass options, at 340 m according to Wikipedia, with a glass floor and angled glass walls. The ticket covers the indoor sky deck, the outdoor platform and the glass floor, so you do not pay extra for the glass. My default ticket is $43.12, rated 4.63 from 23,698 reviews. See Edge NYC tickets.

5. Mahanakhon SkyWalk, Bangkok: 314 m

The King Power Mahanakhon site puts the deck at 314 m. The ticket covers the indoor deck on the 74th floor and the outdoor deck on the 78th floor with its glass floor, which reviewers call the memorable part. Plain tickets start around $39. Go on a weekday if you want fewer people on the glass. More in Mahanakhon SkyWalk tickets.

6. Summit One Vanderbilt, New York City: 310 m

Wikipedia lists the deck at 310 m and describes Levitation as enclosed glass balconies that protrude from the facade, which the ticket listing calls glass skyboxes. This is a glass box rather than a floor you walk across, so it suits you if you like a pane under your feet but not a long drop. Compare it with the Edge in my Summit One Vanderbilt tickets guide.

7. Eureka Skydeck, Melbourne: 285 m

The deck is at 285 m on the Wikipedia list. The Edge is a glass cube that extends 3 metres from the building, according to the Skydeck website, and Wikipedia says the glass turns clear once it is fully out. It is a glass box, not a long floor, so the thrill is short. Prices and timing are in Eureka Skydeck tickets.

8. Sydney Tower, Sydney: 268 m

The deck is at 268 m. The ticket listing for the 90-minute Skywalk says you look down through a glass floor platform, and that the price covers the internal observation deck before and after the walk. The glass is on the open-air Skywalk, not on the standard deck. See Sydney Tower tickets.

9. Oriental Pearl Tower, Shanghai: skywalk at 259 m

The top deck is at 351 m per Wikipedia, but the ticket description lists a 259 m glass skywalk, and the inclusions mention a glass-bottomed walkway. I place it by the 259 m skywalk. Tickets start at $36.49 for a two-sphere entry. More in Oriental Pearl Tower tickets.

10. Sky Tower, Auckland: glass floor at 186 m

Wikipedia says the Main Observation Level is at 186 m, with 38 mm thick glass flooring in sections, and the Skydeck is higher at 220 m. If you want more than looking through glass, the SkyWalk is the bigger step. See Sky Tower tickets.

11. Euromast, Rotterdam: 185 m

The Euromast official site describes the Euroscoop as a rotating glass-floored lift that goes up to 185 m on the outside of the tower. It is a ride, not a fixed floor. The details are in Euromast tickets.

12. Space Needle, Seattle: 158.5 m

Wikipedia describes an indoor deck with a revolving glass floor that takes 45 minutes to complete a turn, and the deck height on its list is 158.5 m. The Revolving Bar sits on that glass floor. Reviewers call the rotating floor impressive. See Space Needle tickets.

13. Calgary Tower, Calgary: 157.5 m

The deck is at 157.5 m. Wikipedia says the glass floor extension on the north side of the observation deck opened in 2005. It is the feature people photograph, so I allow time to stand on it before the light fades. More in Calgary Tower tickets.

14. Dubai Frame, Dubai: 150 m

Wikipedia gives the building a height of 150.24 meters, with glass-bottomed floors looking down almost 150 metres onto the lower span, and the official site gives the deck at 150 m. One reviewer said the glass floor was nice. See Dubai Frame tickets.

15. Blackpool Tower, Blackpool: 116 m

Wikipedia puts the observation deck at 380 feet, about 116 m, and the Skywalk glass floor on it replaced a smaller floor installed in 1998. The listing describes 5 cm thick glass. The ticket costs $18 and also covers the 4D cinema. See Blackpool Tower tickets.

16. Spinnaker Tower, Portsmouth: 110 m

Wikipedia lists three decks at 100 m, 105 m and 110 m, with a glass floor and an open-air deck with a wire mesh roof. There is a closure notice on my deck page, so check opening before you plan a trip. See Spinnaker Tower tickets.

Unranked: Grand Canyon Skywalk, Arizona

Wikipedia describes the Skywalk as a horseshoe-shaped cantilever bridge with a glass walkway at Eagle Point. I have no cited deck height in the same sense as a tower, so it has no rank. It is a different trip from a city glass floor observation deck, with a drive from Las Vegas. See Grand Canyon Skywalk tickets.

Which Glass Floor Observation Deck Should You Pick?

If you want the highest glass, pick the Lotte World Tower. If you want the most famous short thrill, pick The Ledge in Chicago. For a glass floor observation deck in a city you already plan to visit, the CN Tower and Edge give you the glass as part of a normal ticket. If you only want a quick glass box, Levitation at Summit One or the Edge cube in Melbourne is enough. For a wider look at height alone, see my highest observation decks ranking.

Three things decide which glass floor observation deck suits you. The first is height: the glass at the Lotte World Tower and the Willis Tower is more than 400 m up, while the glass at Blackpool and Spinnaker is around 110 m. The second is the format, a true floor you stand on, a rotating floor, or a small glass box. The third is price, because some glass floor observation decks include the glass in the base ticket and others sell it as an extra.

I only list a glass floor when a source says so. Some decks that people call glass floor observation decks are not here because I could not find that claim in a source, and I left them out rather than guess.
