The tallest Ferris wheel in the world is Ain Dubai, at 250 m (820 ft), according to the Wikipedia list of Ferris wheels. Nothing else comes close to the tallest Ferris wheel in the world. Behind it are the High Roller in Las Vegas at 167.6 m and the Singapore Flyer at about 165 m. Of the tallest Ferris wheels, I’d ride the High Roller first if you want a wheel with a proper ticket page and thousands of reviews.
This is my ranking of the tallest Ferris wheels in the world, sorted by height, with every number taken from Wikipedia’s list and, where a wheel has its own page on this site, from that wheel’s Wikidata or official figures. Where a built page gives a slightly different figure than the list, I used the page and say so. Each wheel with a ticket guide is linked once, in the table. The others are plain text because I have no ticket data for them. Prices below are in US dollars from GetYourGuide, checked in October 2026.
The Tallest Ferris Wheel in the World and the Rest, Ranked
An observation wheel and a Ferris wheel are the same thing for this list: a large wheel with passenger cabins that you ride for the view. Wikipedia’s table sorts them by height, and seven wheels tie at 120 m, so ranks 13 to 19 share a number. I keep the order from the list for those. Wikipedia also marks the Bailang River Bridge wheel as centreless and non-rotating, a different design from the classic spoked wheel.
1. Ain Dubai, Dubai: 250 m

Who Held the Tallest Ferris Wheel in the World Record
The title of tallest Ferris wheel in the world has passed through five wheels in the years this list covers. Wikipedia’s list gives the order: the London Eye from 2000 to 2006, the Star of Nanchang from 2006 to 2008, the Singapore Flyer from 2008 to 2014, the High Roller from 2014 to 2021 and Ain Dubai since 2021. Each new record holder beat the last one by a modest margin until Ain Dubai, which jumped from 167.6 m to 250 m in one step.
That jump explains why the tallest Ferris wheel in the world sits so far ahead of the rest of the table. The High Roller was 9 ft taller than the 541 ft Singapore Flyer when it opened, according to Wikipedia, which shows how close the earlier races were. Every wheel from 5 to 20 is at least 22 m shorter than the High Roller, so the top three are in a class of their own.
If you are choosing which of the tallest Ferris wheels in the world to ride, the ranking is only part of the answer. The three tallest Ferris wheels that sell tickets here are the High Roller, the Singapore Flyer and the London Eye, and they differ more in price than in height: $21.40 for the High Roller, $35.96 for the Singapore Flyer and $38.65 for the London Eye, each for the standard ticket. The tallest Ferris wheel in the world is not the cheapest to ride, and the cheapest of the three is only the second tallest.
Smaller Wheels With a Ticket Guide
Three more wheels on this site are well below the top 20, but each has a ticket page. I’d call these good value if you want the ride more than the record. My data gives Skyviews Miami at 61 m from its official site, the Niagara SkyWheel at 53.3 m (175 ft) from Wikidata and the SkyStar Wheel in San Francisco at 45.7 m (150 ft). Tickets start at $11.99 for Niagara, $19 for SkyStar and $25 for Skyviews Miami. The SkyStar Wheel is a traveling wheel that has moved between cities, and Wikipedia says it has stood at Fisherman’s Wharf since November 13, 2023.
How I’d Choose Among the Tallest Observation Wheels
If the record is the point, the tallest Ferris wheel in the world is Ain Dubai, though my only listing for it is a yacht cruise that includes entry. For a plain ticket and a big skyline, I’d book the High Roller, the second tallest Ferris wheel in the world, or the Singapore Flyer for the highest rating of the three tallest at 4.72. The London Eye is the safest bet for reviews, with 40,657 on its standard ticket.
By height, Wikipedia's list puts Ain Dubai first at 250 m, then High Roller (167.6 m), Singapore Flyer (about 165 m), Star of Nanchang (160 m), Bailang River Bridge Ferris Wheel (145 m), Sun of Moscow (140 m), London Eye (135 m), Squirrel Windmill (133 m), Bay Glory (128 m) and Sky Dream in Taichung (126 m).
